Bracknell Bees Preview.

A 4 point weekend last weekend in which the Pirates blew away the Telford, we meet the Bracknell Bees on Sunday.

Bracknell have struggled this season and only basement team Leeds have fewer points. They look in close contest with London for the 8th spot in the league.

They look especially lightweight in defence with net minder Adam Goss currently boasting an 87.83% save percentage. It also appears Daniel milton has played a good number of minutes and boasts an 85.71%. These figures appear to show a lack of depth in the Bees defence and that these keepers are facing a lot of rubber. Stuart Mogg and Brendan Baird have offered some support and a few points too but they lack any vast experience at the back.

Putting points up for the team have also been a concern. Only import Dominik Gabaj has offered anything more than a point a game with his 35 points in 17 games. Second import Roman Malinik has exactly 1 point per game with 18 goals and 15 assists. After this there are a lot of players with points every couple of games. More evidence that the Bees have struggled in this new rigorous league.

Despite what I’ve written about the lack of experience and depth the Bees have pushed us close this season including two hotly contested at the Hive in Bracknell. They will play a tough style of hockey and always seem to lift their games up for fixtures against the Pirates. This will be no walk in the park and will require another complete performance from the Pirates.

The charge up the league has been assisted by the return of Matty who will only get better as his match sharpness continues and the addition of Matt Bissonnette who again with more ice time will be one of the strongest imports on the league. His emphatic finish in the game against Telford is more than testament to this.

On a personal note I thought the noise and support throughout the Telford game last week was amazing and no doubt the players thrive on it. Let’s keep this going and be that little bit extra that carries the team to success.
