Hull Pirates Legends Night: An Evening With Andre Payette

ALL FANS WELCOME. PRIZES GALORE! TONIGHT WE WILL BE HOSTING SOME AMAZING RAFFLES WITH VOUCHERS TO SPEND AT TAPHOUSE, FREE GYM MEMBERSHIP, MEAL VOUCHERS AND AN AUTOGRAPHED PAYETTE SHIRT. DUE TO AN ANTICIPATED HIGH DEMAND PLEASE BE AWARE THAT NUMBERS ARE LIMITED TO 150.

At the beginning of the season we promised to arrange supporter’s social events and this started with the pre-game socials hosted by Loyalty Partner, Taphouse, Humber Street, Hull. Support for these events is growing by the week and it is great to see families attending as well as adults.

We are planning monthly socials throughout the season and the first ‘special event’ is an autumn cracker on Monday 7th October ahead of the most awaited clash of the season when we ‘welcome’ our South Yorkshire ‘bitter’ rivals, the Sheffield Steeldogs. As a gesture of goodwill to all Pirates’ fans who cannot watch our boys play this weekend because of the rink closure, Shane Smith is funding this event and it will be free to all fans who show the Loyalty Pass (see the Loyalty Partner tab on this site) or season pass.

Our first monthly social event is not to be missed. The Legends Night features none other than Pirates’ Commercial Manager and ice hockey legendary fighter, Andre Payette. It promises to be a night full of entertainment and enlightening revelations with Andre taking part in an interview and Q&A session. Do you want to know about Andre’s NHL history or perhaps one of his proudest moments, being on the cover of a leading North American magazine for a humane act he was involved in? Don’t believe me? There is only one way to find out. Doors open at 7pm and the event will start at 7.30pm Monday 7th October.

Andre is giving up his day off to come over to Hull for this event. ‘It is a no-brainer for me. When we learned of the rink closure, all of us were on a downer. It was completely out of our control. Ian proposed this event and Shane jumped in straight ahead to fund it as a gesture of thanks for the support of the Pirates’ fans. Trust me, he is as gutted as anyone by the rink closure.’

On the evening we hope to bring you a special treat. Taphouse’s in-house microbrewery, Yorkshire Brewing Co are in the process of brewing a dedicated Pirates’ ale and if all goes to plan, free samples will be available. This depends on the brewing process which is constrained by the time available before the event. However, if it is brewed in time, fans will be able to propose a name for the new ale and vote on their favourite. If all goes to plan, subject to Taphouse’s confirmation, the beer will be on sale at the bar and look out for special offers under the Pirate Loyalty Partner Scheme.

This promises to be an amazing night but space in the bar is limited to around 150 people. It is a FREE event, sponsored by Hull Pirates. Please register your interest any way you can on our social media when you see the post.
