The Hull Pirates would like to announce the home game against Sheffield Steeldogs on the Saturday 21st March will be in support of the very worthy charity Thinking Autism. To commemorate the game and to help raise money and awareness for the charity we will be releasing a very special jersey for the event.
Autism is a life-long disability that has an impact on many families globally including those within our very own hockey family, this has motivated our decision to provide ongoing support for the UK charity Thinking Autism.
Thinking Autism are a small team of autism parents and adults with autism, working together to improve the quality of life for people with autism, helping them to reach their full potential. The charities focus is on the medical comorbidities people with autism suffer from at higher rates. With proper recognition and treatment of these, the quality of life improves for many and the disabling symptoms of autism diminish.
We would like to unveil the special edition jersey that will be worn for this event will be on sale immediately through Skaters Edge shop.
The striking design for this jersey has been inspired by the autism awareness ribbon, the puzzle pattern reflects the complexity of the condition, the colours represents the diversity of the people and families living with the condition and the brightness symbolises hope.
Senior jerseys will cost £50 and Junior jerseys £40 with all profits from these sales going directly to Thinking Autism to help them continue their vital work.
An own and loan auction for the player worn jerseys will commence on Monday the 2nd of March to help raise further funds for the charity.
We are asking all members of the Pirates Nation and the extended hockey family to rally together to help support this worthy cause.
