The Smailes Goldie Hull Pirates are sad to learn of the passing of Peterborough legend, Dick Britton.
Dick kept the Peterborough Pirates alive when the future of the club looked bleak. His efforts ensured that the Phantoms are still present within the ice hockey family.
The Britton family name is synonymous with ice hockey in general but particularly within Peterborough hockey circles. Dick’s son, Craig Britton, played for the Pirates, as well as the Phantoms and Islanders.
Against the Bracknell Bees, the Phantoms observed a fitting tribute in memory of Dick.
All at Hull Pirates wish to extend our deepest sympathy to Craig and his family.
